The "Elemental Spirits" date back to the 16th century. Drawing Boards have used the elemental triangles on each deck along with the compass at the top showing each direction when invoking the spirits of the elements.

This one is the Air~Sylph, The Western element of Air (Libra starting the Autumn in Equinox). Most of the winds here are blowing from the West.
