Space Hoppers FAQs

  • What’s the recommended age for using a kids space hopper?

Space hoppers are incredibly versatile and the recommended age really does depend on the model. For toddler space hoppers, the typical age range tends to be for 1 to 3 year olds. A toddler space hopper is generally smaller in size, with a lower seat to accommodate for your little ones. A kids space hopper is a little different, however. Childrens space hoppers have been designed for slightly older kids, typically in the 3 to 6 year old age bracket, and these tend to be a little larger. These are designed to offer more stability and allow for a better bounce.

  • Are space hoppers suitable for indoor and outdoor use?

Yes, many of our children space hoppers have been designed for both indoor and outdoor use, meaning that no matter where you are, the bouncy fun can take place anywhere for your little ones! Whether it’s bouncing about in your living room or garden, your toddler and kids will have bags of fun during all hours of the day, up until the point they hit the sack and get a good nights sleep. At SkateHut, however, we recommend using them on a smooth and safe surface to prevent punctures or damage and to allow for a stable hopping experience. You’ll also want to regularly check your space hopper for punctures, dents or damage, as such damage could hinder your child’s experience and cause instability or injury. If you spot wear and tear of this nature, be sure to be careful and consider replacing the space hopper.

  • What safety precautions should I take when my child is using a space hopper?

Safety is of utmost importance when it comes to your child using a space hopper. You will want to maintain supervision of your child at all times to prevent any injuries or accidents as they hop about. Ensure that the space hopper has been inflated sufficiently. You will want it just firm enough that it isn’t too loose and floppy but at the same time, isn’t overinflated and at risk of bursting. We advise that space hoppers are used on safe, smooth and even surfaces to ensure stability. You might also want to consider providing your kids with a helmet and knee pads, along with other protective gear, particularly for outdoor use.

  • Can adults use space hoppers too?

Yes, we don’t just stock kids space hoppers, we also have space hoppers for adults and grown ups available too. It is a good way for adults to stay active and fit, whilst having bags of fun, either alone or maybe with their kids too. Be sure to check the weight limit on the space hopper that you buy to ensure that it can cater to your weight, preventing busting or injuries. Teenagers and adults can really make fun of the space hoppers by competing against each other in hopping races, friendly competitions or just bouncing around together.
