Roxana Howlett Reviews Nike Stefan Janoski JDI Shoes For Kids
Roxana Howlett is the 9 year old super star shredder from Exeter. She’s been skating since the age of 6 and has wowed audiences at Buckland Jam, Exminster Skate Jam, the NASS Festival and has even starred in a TV ad on Cartoon Network!
We asked Roxanna to review Nike’s Stefan Janoski JDI kids skate shoes. The Nike SB range offers a variety of skate shoes for kids, teens and adults, beginners to professionals. The Stefan Janoski line is one of the most recognisable and famous when compared to other Nike SB creations.
Buying any pair of skate shoes can sometimes be a bit daunting, especially when buying for children. Knowing what to buy can become easier however after looking at some online reviews. It’s good to know what to expect when it comes to durability, comfort levels, price and performance.
SkateHut sent Roxana a fresh pair of Nike Stefan Janoski JDI skate shoes to review. Weeks later we visited her in Exeter to collect her thoughts on these kids skate shoes. Here's what she had to say:
What skate shoes have you worn in the past?
I’ve worn Lakai, Vans, Etnies and DC Shoes
How long would they normally last?
Usually 6-8 weeks before they get really holey! I skate every day
What were your first thoughts of the Nike SB Stefan Janoski’s SkateHut sent?
I thought they looked really cool! They were different from any others I’d seen so they looked good and stood out
What did you think to the colour?
I liked it. They were black with white rubber edging and orange Just Do It writing which looked great
Did they fit you OK?
Yes they did, they felt a tad smaller than other Nikes I’ve worn, a slightly slimmer fit but they were good
Are they comfortable?
Would you happily wear another pair of these shoes in the future?
Do you want to add any more comments about the shoes?
They look great and are a nice alternative to plain Janoskis
Please rate the following out of 5 (1 being bad, 5 being good)
Skating comfort: 5
Overall score: 5
Buying skate shoes
When choosing a pair of skate shoes, it’s important to aim for a pair that won’t interfere with board feel when you’re skating. As with any pair of skate shoes, you’ll have to break them in so that their not super stiff but flexible and comfortable.
