Action Sports Events for October 2023

It’s the start of a new month, so as always, we’ve put together the must-see events for October. See all the latest UK Skateboarding, Skating, Scooter, and BMX events right here and maybe we’ll see you at a few of them!


New Wave at Flo Skatepark

When: 14th October

Where: Flo Skatepark 5 Poulton Dr, Nottingham NG2 4BN

How long: 6 pm - 9 pm 

What's happening:

  • Queer and Marginalised Genders
  • Coaching for all abilities
  • Supportive New Wave faces are on hand for support where desired throughout the session
  • Plus loads of boards to borrow for free
  • As always, under 16s will need a helmet and a parent present if it is their first time
  • We have a separate waiting area in reception for parents.

 

 

Design Museum - Skateboard

When: 20th October - 2nd June 2024

Where: The Design Museum 224-238 Kensington High St, London W8 6AG

How long: 10 am to 5 pm

What's Happening:

Curated and designed by author, designer, and skater Jonathan Olivares, this will be the first UK exhibition to explore the evolution of skateboard design in such detail, developed in partnership with Converse.

The exhibition will showcase innovative skateboards and components and track how skateboarders have taken over sidewalks, swimming pools and skate parks designing new boards to suit their performance, style and surroundings.

Around 90 rare and unique boards will go on display, alongside over 100 other objects, including hardware such as wheels and tucks, safety equipment, VHS tapes, DVDs, magazines and ephemera. Together they will show skateboard’s technical developments and its evolving social acceptance.

 

 

Backyard Jam BMX Freestyle National Series 2023 Round 6

When: 21st - 22nd October

Where: Asylum Skatepark, Unit 8, Hamilton Road, Sutton In Ashfield, Huthwaite, NG17 5LD

How long: 9 am - 7 pm

 

 

Halloween All-Nighter

When: 27th October

Where: Just Ramps, 15, Waterside Industrial Estate, Ettingshall Rd, Wolverhampton WV2 2RH

How long: 10 pm - 8 am

What's Happening:

  • There will be competitions for Scooters, Skateboards and BMX Riders
  • Best Trick Competition
  • Cash Prizes

 

 


HALLOWEEN ALL-NIGHTER

When: 27th October

Where: Adrenaline Alley, 6 Priors Haw Rd, Corby NN17 5PH

How long: 10 pm - 7:30 am

What’s Happening:

  • All wheels welcomed
  • Tricks for treats
  • Prize for best fancy dress

 

 

Gravestone

When: 28th October

Where: Graystones Action Sport Center, 47 Brunel Ave, Salford M5 4BE

How long: 5:30 pm until late

What’s Happening:

  • Prizes from Oakley, Stance, DC & Arcade.
  • We welcome ALL AGES, DISCIPLINES & ABILITIES to join us.
  • Parents and spectators come FREE.

 

 

WKD Halloween Event

When: 28th October

Where: Creation Skatepark, 582 Moseley Rd, Balsall Heath, Birmingham B12 9AA

How Long: 7 pm - 12 pm

What's Happening:

  • Our skatepark will be illuminated by UV lighting and UV tape, creating an awe-inspiring venue for a skatepark session.
  • Over 60 UV Cannons and 2500 meters of vibrant coloured UV tape, along with special effect lighting will bring the skatepark to life.
  • All riders must wear a white t-shirt
  • Helmets ARE COMPULSORY
