Heading to Alleyfest? Here's How to Get Your Ride Ready Before You Go

Alleyfest is back, and it's shaping up to be one of the biggest dates on the UK action sports calendar this year. On 18th July 2026, Adrenaline Alley will be taken over from 10:30am to 7pm for a full day of scooter, BMX/MTB, skateboard, inline/quad and WCMX competitions and jams, hosted by some big names in the scene, alongside a stacked line-up of family-friendly extras like a climbing wall, motorcycle trials demos, a graffiti workshop, have-a-go sessions, and more.

Whether you're competing, jamming, or just rolling in to have a go, one thing's for certain: Alleyfest gets busy. And every year, we see the same thing happen at our Adrenaline Alley shop — a queue of riders wanting last-minute grips, bearings, or a fresh set of wheels before they head out onto the park.

So this year, we want to help you skip the wait. Here's our guide to sorting your scooter, skateboard or BMX bike out before you arrive, so you can spend more time riding and less time stood at the counter.

Why Sort Your Gear Out Early?

On event days like this, our in-park shop is one of the first stops for riders needing quick fixes. New grip tape, a swapped bearing, replacement wheels. It's brilliant that we're there to help, but when hundreds of riders have the same idea at the same time, waiting around for a repair is time you could be spending on the ramps.

The good news is that most of what you'll need is available right now on the SkateHut website, with fast UK delivery in plenty of time before the 18th. Get it sorted from home, fit it yourself (or bring it fitted), and walk straight into Alleyfest ready to ride.

Scooter Riders: Sort the Essentials First

If you're heading to Alleyfest on a scooter, these are the four things worth checking before you even think about packing your bag. Worn grips, tired grip tape, gritty bearings and flat-spotted wheels are the most common reasons riders end up in the shop queue, so tick these off first.

  • Scooter Grips — Worn or slipping grips can genuinely cost you a trick, or worse, a slipped hand mid-run. A fresh pair gives you back the control and confidence you need for the jams.
  • Scooter Wheels — Flat-spotted or worn-down wheels won't roll the way they should on Adrenaline Alley's ramps and bowls. Swap them out for a smoother, faster ride.
  • Scooter Grip Tape — Smooth, worn grip tape is an easy fix that makes a huge difference to your footing on take-offs and landings.
  • Scooter Bearings — Dirty or worn bearings will slow you right down. Fresh ones mean smoother rolling and less drag all day long.

Need a Bigger Fix? Replace the Parts That Matter

If your scooter needs more than the basics, we've got the core replacement parts covered too:

  • Scooter Decks — For when your current deck is cracked, bent, or just holding you back.
  • Scooter Handlebars — Bent bars or the wrong height can throw off your whole setup. Get the fit right before the big day.
  • Scooter Forks — A damaged fork is a safety issue as much as a performance one — don't leave this one to chance.

Skateboarders: Give Your Board Some Love Before Alleyfest

Skateboarding at Alleyfest, hosted this year by Dan Webz, is always one of the highlights of the day. Before you roll in, run through these four checks:

  • Skateboard Bearings — Nothing kills your speed and pop like old, gritty bearings. A fresh set is one of the cheapest, quickest upgrades you can make.
  • Skateboard Trucks — Loose, worn or mismatched trucks affect your turning and stability. Get them dialled in before you hit the park.
  • Skateboard Wheels — Worn-down or flat-spotted wheels won't grip the ramps and bowls the way you need them to.
  • Skateboard Decks — Chipped, delaminating or dead-feeling deck? A fresh deck can completely transform how your board rides.

Riding BMX? Don't Get Caught Out Either

BMX and MTB riders are just as welcome to make the most of getting parts sorted online in advance, particularly bearings, wheels, and any worn contact points, so you're not queuing at the shop between motos.

Not Sure What Fits Your Setup? Use Our Builders

If you're not 100% sure which parts are compatible with your current scooter or skateboard, don't guess — use our free online builder tools. Just pick your components and we'll make sure everything works together before you order:

  • Skateboard Builder — Build a complete, compatible board from the deck up.
  • Scooter Builder — Put together a scooter setup that's guaranteed to work, piece by piece.

Both tools are a great way to double-check compatibility if you're mixing and matching parts, or if you're building a fresh setup from scratch ahead of the event.
