The summer holidays are well underway, and August is shaping up to be a massive month for action sports across the UK. Here's your guide to the biggest events happening this August.
1 August
ScootGB Wales/Northern Qualifier.
The ScootGB Wales/Northern Qualifier is basically a massive, high-energy stunt scooter competition happening at Deeside Skatepark on Saturday, August 1st, 2026. Think of it as the ultimate showdown for riders from all across Wales and Northern England. It is actually the very last chance of the season for riders to show off their best tricks and secure a highly coveted spot in the British Championship Finals. The atmosphere is going to be electric, with action split across the park's bowl and street sections from mid-morning all the way into the evening.
What makes this event so great is that it is truly open to everyone in the scooter community, no matter their age or skill level. You will see everything from fresh grassroots talent and young beginners hitting their very first competitive ramps, all the way up to elite pros throwing down mind-blowing stunts on rails and ledges. Whether you are looking to buy a rider ticket to compete yourself, or just want to grab a spectator pass to cheer everyone on and soak up the vibes, it is set to be an awesome day out.

1–2 August
Lloyds National BMX Race Series – Rounds 9 & 10, Derby
The penultimate stop of the Lloyds National BMX Race Series heads to Derby BMX Track on the 1st and 2nd of August. With the national standings tightening heading into the back end of the season, these two rounds are set to be fiercely competitive across all age groups.
British Cycling's national race series is the premier pathway for competitive BMX racers in the UK, with categories for riders from the youngest juniors all the way through to adult classes. If you've got a budding racer in the family, this is worth the trip to see how the nation's best stack up.

15 August
Gloucester Skate Park Project
The Gloucester Skatepark Summer Jam is happening on Saturday, 15th August, and it is going to be an absolute blast! Head down to Bakersfield on Park End Road for a full day of completely free action. They have got the day split into different blocks starting from 11:00 am, covering everything from scooters and BMX to rollerblading and skateboarding. There is even a dedicated under-16s session to kick things off, plus plenty of 30-minute free skates, mini-games, and prize giveaways tucked between the main events to keep the energy high.
Just a few quick things to keep in mind before you head out: if you are bringing riders under 16, a parent or guardian needs to sign them in, and helmets are a must. Also, there is no parking allowed at the Bakersfield site itself until everything wraps up around 6:00 pm, so you will want to find a spot nearby. Oh, and if you need a loo break, the closest public toilets are just a short stroll away at the Butterfly Café in Gloucester Park or over at Gloucester Quays.

London Street Jam
The London Street Jam is back on Saturday, August 29, 2026! Hosted by Dogg Scooters and backed by major brands like District, this annual event brings together top pro scooter riders to shred the best street spots around the city.
Expect high-energy tricks, a massive crowd, and an amazing street riding atmosphere, especially around key London locations. Whether you are riding or just watching, it is going to be a huge day for the scooter community.

29–30 August
Lloyds BMX Race British Championships – Platt Fields, Manchester
The season climax for competitive BMX racing in the UK, the Lloyds BMX Race British Championships lands at Platt Fields BMX Track in Manchester over the August Bank Holiday weekend. This is the big one — the event where national titles are decided and where riders across every age category lay it all on the line.
The Bank Holiday weekend makes this a great family outing, and Manchester is easily accessible from across the country. If you've followed the national series through the summer, this is where the stories conclude. Expect packed gates, high stakes, and some of the best BMX racing you'll see anywhere in the UK.

30 August
Spanner Lock-In – Adrenaline Alley, Corby
Rounding out August on the Bank Holiday Saturday, Adrenaline Alley in Corby — Europe's largest indoor action sports venue — is hosting an exclusive Spanner Lock-In event. If you don't know who Spanner is, he's one of the most recognised names in UK scooter riding: a content creator, pro rider, and genuine personality from the scene.
Unlike a typical meet-and-greet, the Lock-In is a small-group, intimate session held in Building 3 (Adrenaline Alley's dedicated scooter room) with a maximum of just 25 riders per slot. That means real riding time with Spanner, not a photo-and-go queue. Several time slots are available throughout the day, though early slots have already sold out — check the Adrenaline Alley website for remaining availability.
