This burly all-mountain lid gets extended coverage across the lower part of the head, making it an ideal choice for more aggressive riding and rowdy trails. To the outside of the helmet, the Polymer Compound Shell fends off the inevitable knocks and bumps we all experience when mountain biking. Maybe a thwack from a trailside tree branch or a slow speed tumble around a steep hairpin.
For higher speed falls, the in-moulded Impact Foam absorbs crash energy and disperses it in order to protect your head. The visor is also designed to break away in a crash, lessening rotational forces. Talking of rotational forces, brain-protecting 360° Turbine Technology is also a key safety feature of the MTB 3.0 AllMtn.
360° Turbine Technology
The 360° Turbine Technology is focused on reducing the damaging effects of a crash on your brain. It works via 360° moving discs, all made from an energy-absorbing material. These impart a reduction of rotational acceleration to the head and brain by up to 40%. The system also improves the absorption of impact energy - it reduces peak brain acceleration by up to 30% at the impact speeds associated with concussion.
Big-Mountain Ventilation
When you're taking on challenging Alpine trails it's not just the safety features that will impress. Ventilation is also excellent. A combination of 18 vents and MaxiFlow impact foam air channels creates highly effective cooling airflow over your head, even at slower speeds. Getting sweaty is pretty inevitable though. And the moisture-wicking Dri-Lex® liner helps in this regard, keeping sweat away as you warm up. Being anti-dour and washable too, you'll enjoy freshness every ride. A Fidlock magnetic closure system makes securing the 3.0 super easy too.
