The outer shell is a durable Polymer Compound, perfect to meet the demands of the general wear and tear and the bumps and knocks of trail riding - a close shave trailside tree branch or overhanging bush for example. For higher speed crashes, the Impact Foam comes into play. This absorbs and disperses crash forces to keep your head safe.
The visor is also designed to break away in a crash, lessening rotational forces. Talking of rotational forces, brain-protecting 360 ÌŠ Turbine Technology is also a key safety feature of the MTB 2.0.
360° Turbine Technology
The 360° Turbine Technology is focused on reducing the damaging effects of a crash on your brain. It works via 360° moving discs, all made from an energy-absorbing material. These impart a reduction of rotational acceleration to the head and brain by up to 40%. The system also improves the absorption of impact energy - it reduces peak brain acceleration by up to 30% at the impact speeds associated with concussion.
Turbo-Charged Ventilation
When you're on the mountain bike it's not just the safety features that will impress. Ventilation is also excellent. A combination of 20 vents and MaxiFlow impact foam air channels creates highly effective cooling airflow over your head, even at slower speeds. Getting sweaty is pretty inevitable though.
