Skatehut Warranty

In the unfortunate event that you have received an item you believe to be faulty please check the following before returning your goods.

Different products come with different warranty periods.

Here we will list the typical length of warranty periods, what is covered by this warranty and what isn’t and the procedure to follow.

Warranty dates start from the date of receiving your order.

Scooter Parts.

Each part of a stunt scooter has a warranty period all of its own. As each part is interchangeable so please check below to find out how long the parts are covered for.

Not covered - bars that have been modified in any way (cutting down, cutting a slit in or off) Scratches or chipping to the finish. Any bars that have visible signs of impact from landing incorrectly or being thrown.

Aluminium Bars are designed and manufactured using lightweight materials for riders who want the lightest setup possible and know how to ride smoothly. Impacts from dropping and losing control of the scooter will cause damage to the bars and this will not be covered under warranty.

Forks - Typically covered for 90 days against bending or breaking.

Not covered - Stripped or bent axles, forks that have been modified in any way.

Clamps - Typically covered for 90 days against breaking of the body of the clamp.

Not covered - stripped or cross-threaded bolts. Stripped bolt heads caused by using the incorrect tools. Scratches or damage to the finish.

Wheels - Typically covered for 90 days against dehubbing - where the PU disengages from the hub.

Not covered - chunking - where pieces of the PU breaks away from the wheel from landing sideways or on rough surfaces. Flat spotting caused by braking too hard or skidding. Wheel bearings unless defective at the time of purchase.

Please Note Nylon Core wheels are typically only covered for 30 days.

Wheel/Headset bearings/grips/brakes and grip tape are classed as consumable items and therefore are only covered if received in a defective state before use.

Skateboards

Skateboard decks - are covered for anything between 30 and 120 days depending on the supplier/manufacturer. This should be detailed in the manual. Covered by this warranty will be manufacturing defects such as Warped Plys or delamination.

Not Covered - Normal wear and tear or snapping of the deck - this will normally be caused by not landing a trick correctly rather than a defect in the material.

Skateboard Trucks - are covered for anything between 120 days and lifetime depending on the supplier/manufacturer. Again this should be included in the manual. Covered by this warranty are manufacturing defects.

Not covered - damage through improper use or normal wear and tear.

Skates

Whether you have Quads, Inlines or Ice Skates the warranty for these is more or less the same.

The skates will be covered for 3 - 6 months against manufacturing defects. Bearings are classed as a consumable item and therefore are only covered if received in a defective state before use.

The only skates that will have different warranty periods are Derby Skates. As these are generally harder wearing and generally customisable each part will have a different warranty period and will depend on the brand. See your manuals for exact warranty periods.

Not covered - Misuse/abuse, general wear and tear, accidental damage from collisions or accidents whilst riding, any modifications to the item will void the warranty.

Bikes

Most bikes will come with a 1-year warranty. To activate this the bike must be built or checked over by a qualified bike mechanic. This warranty will cover unexpected failure/defect of all components/parts that aren’t attributed to normal wear and tear or crash damage.
