What is your query regarding?

My item is faulty. What do I do?

In the unfortunate event that you have received an item you believe to be faulty please check the following before returning your goods.

If there is a manual please check this thoroughly to ensure the correct operation of the product.

If the fault persists please email sales@skatehut.co.uk with a description of the fault and your order number. If you could also attach a photo of the area this could help speed up the process a great deal.  Alternatively please call to discuss this with our Customer Service Team on 0121 501 1111. Please then await further instruction in reply from a member of our sales team. Emails are usually answered within 24 working hours.

If you believe that your scooter may be faulty please click here for information that may be of help in resolving the issue.

If the product has been used we are obliged to repair or replace the item. A refund will only be processed in exceptional circumastances.

How much is delivery and how long does it take?

We despatch most of our orders via Interlink. The service is next working day (provided you order before 7pm) and they require someone to sign for the goods. We can offer delivery to an alternative address, please request this when checking out. We can also suggest the driver tries a neighbour if you can let us know which number. Please note if you request that the package is left somewhere without a signature this will only be done at the discretion of the delivery driver. If you do request an item is left without a signature you assume responsibility for any loss or damage to the package.

Royal Mail Second Class typically takes around 3-5 working days for delivery, but please allow 10 days to receive your item as on rare occasions there may be delays that are beyond our control. 

When goods are shipped overseas it is the responsibility of the buyer to return the goods and cover postage costs even if the goods are faulty.

How much is international delivery?

There are three costs for delivery to Europe dependant on location. For most european countries we ship for the price of £11.95 and can typically take between 2-5 days depending on location. What if my product is on back order?

If 1 or more of your items is not in stock, we will back order it for you, and despatch it as soon as available. Prior to this, we will be in contact either by phone or email to offer alternative products or the option to cancel.
Tax charges: All prices listed on our site include any tax required.

How do I get a price match?

Please read the conditions below and call to price match and have the competitors website address ready so our sales person can compare the match. If successful the order can then be processed in full over the phone.

  1. The website that the match is to be made against must have the goods in stock. When comparing footware or clothing the size must be in stock.
  2. The goods must be identical in every way.
  3. The quoted price of the competitor must include shipping and tax charges.
  4. We are unable to match against websites outside of the uk, sites selling bankrupt stock or any 3rd party auction site such as Amazon or eBay.
  5. The price match offer is not a binding contract until payment has been completed, and Skate Hut reserve the right to refuse pricematching at our discretion.

How do I make a purchase on your website?

Making a purchase could not be easier. Just browse our store, and add any items that you wish to buy into the shopping cart. After you have finished your selection, click on 'checkout' and you will be asked for a few details that we need to be able to complete the order.

We accept credit/debit card payment or payments by paypal.

When confirmation of order is received, this is to indicate that we have received your order. It does not indicate that a contract exists between us. We will indicate acceptance of your order, and hence a contract between us, when we send you an invoice. We have included this term to protect us in the case that a mistake has been made in pricing, we have inadvertently under-priced goods, or we are no longer able to supply a particular product for some reason. In the case of a change of price, we will always contact you first to ensure that the price is acceptable.

Loyalty Points

INTRODUCING THE NEW LOYALTY POINTS SYSTEM:

  • Our loyalty points scheme allows customers that have accounts with us to place orders and gain discounts off future orders by spending their loyalty points through our site.

 

The Way it Works:

 

  • For every pound you spend with Skate hut you will receive a loyalty point (these are generally rounded up to the nearest pound) and each loyalty point is equivalent to 3p (GBP). So, if you were to spend £150 with us you would receive 150 loyalty points which equates to £4.50 of discount off any future order.
  • Every time you spend with us your points will accumulate and you don’t have to spend them per order as they will mount up each time you spend.
  • You can also spend a fraction of your loyalty points rather than all of them at once if you wanted to get a small discount off an order i.e. equivalent to postage.
  • When you wish to spend points from your account you can input the desired amount of money to take off rather than the amount of points to use, this way it makes it easier for you to keep track of what you’re spending.
  • Unfortunately only Loyalty points can be spent when you place an order through the site and not over the phone due to the Data Protection Act 1998, however when you place orders over the phone you’re still gaining points and we can let you know how many you’ve earned on your order.

 

Your Skate Hut Account:

You can keep a track of your loyalty points through your Skate hut account online.

If you haven’t set up a Skate hut account already then your points won’t accumulate or be saved so you would be losing out on great deals and offers, but you can do this by going here: https://www.skatehut.co.uk/account and selecting the NEW USER tab.

If you also have several accounts with us but on different email addresses we are able to link the loyalty points that you have gathered, or can gather, together for you.  Just give us a call on 0121 501 1111 and let us know your email addresses for the accounts then our helpful staff can do this for you.

Delivery Options Explained

Below is a breakdown of the delivery options we offer.

  • Economy Delivery (3-5 Days) - See Chart Below For Cost

When ordered before 3pm your order will be dispatched via Economy Delivery. This is a tracked service so you can check your delivery is on the way. This would usually be within 2 days, inclusive of Saturdays. Please allow up to 5 days for delivery. Orders placed after 3pm will be dispatched on the next working day.

  • Interlink Next Working Day Delivery - See Chart Below For Cost

When ordered before 7pm your order will be dispatched on via Interlink. This is a tracked service so you can check the progress of your package. On the day of delivery you will also receive a text/email notifying you of an estimated hour delivery window. This does not include Saturday, Sunday or Bank Holidays.  This service is only available for UK Mainland customers.

  • Interlink Saturday Delivery - £9.99

When ordered before 7pm on Friday your order will be dispatched via Interlink. This is a tracked service so you can check on the progress of your package. You will also receive a text/email notifying you of dispatch and an estimated hour delivery window. This service is only available for UK Mainland customers. 

  • Interlink Sunday Delivery - £5.99

When ordered before 3pm on Saturday your order will be dispatched via Interlink. This is a tracked service so you can check on the progress of your package. You will also receive a text/email notifying you of dispatch and an estimated hour delivery window. This service is only available for UK Mainland customers. 

  • Channel Islands (2-3 Days) - £9.99

This option is for customers from the Channel Islands. If ordered before 7pm your order will be dispatched on the same day via Hermes tracked service. This will take 2-3 days for delivery. 

  • Eire and Northern Ireland (2 Days) - £4.99

This option is for customer in Ireland and Northern Ireland. If ordered before 7pm your items will be dispatched on the same day via Interlink. This is a tracked service so you can check the progress of your delivery. This service typically takes 2 days. 

Unfortunately we cannot offer next day service to the following UK Postcodes;

USA Delivery

Deliveries to the USA are NEXT DAY providing they are ordered before 12 Noon (GMT), however on some occasions packages can be held at customs, this can typically take 2-3 days to clear and cannot be prevented, therefore Skate Hut can't be held responsible if this happens.

Items under 2 Kg and of a smaller size typically cost £12 to deliver

Items of a larger size and weight can be £20 upwards

All delivery costs are present at the 'My Basket' screen once the shipping destination is chosen, before any money is taken.

Please be aware with abnormally heavy or Bulky items a Skate Hut representative may contact you before shipment if this transaction cannot be performed.

The small print

The service is next WORKING day (provided you order before 7pm) and will require someone to sign for the goods. Please note next working day delivery does not include Saturday, Sunday or Bank Holidays.

Please note for UK Next Working Day Service if you place an order between 7pm on a Thursday and 3pm on a Sunday your order will be dispatched for delivery on Monday unless Saturday delivery option is selected at checkout. Orders placed after 3pm on Sunday will be dispatched on Monday for delivery on Tuesday.

Saturday delivery is available for orders placed before 7pm on Friday as long as Saturday Delivery is selected at checkout. If you request that the package is left somewhere without a signature, this will only be done at the discretion of the delivery driver. Post and Economy orders placed after 3pm will be dispatched on the next working day.

Can't be home for delivery? Don't worry - Skate Hut can ship to any UK address so you can have your order delivered to your place of work, to a friend, a relative or neighbour. Simply enter your preferred delivery address when checking out.

If for any reason there is a delay in shipping your order a Skate Hut representative will contact you as soon as possible to inform you of any issue.

We are happy to offer our UK customers peace of mind when placing an order for over £20 by providing a Free Returns service via Collect+.  Now you can order in confidence in the knowledge that should your items not fit correctly or are unwanted you don’t need to worry about the cost of returning the goods.

The Collect+ returns service means you can drop your parcel off at one of 5,500 local shops in the UK. Usually these shops are open late and within just 1 mile of your home which means more convenience. When you drop your parcel off you will receive a receipt with tracking details for your parcel so you know where it is and when we receive it.

How long do I have to return my items?

Here at Skate Hut we offer a 30 day returns policy that commences upon the day you receive your goods. Within this time you can return your unused/unworn goods for refund/credit or exchange. Refunds are available up to 14 days from order delivery date, after this and up to 30 days of order receipt a credit to your Skatehut online account is issued. Exchanges are available for the full 30 day period. Please note that goods that are returned after the 30 day period will be returned to you unless exceptional circumstances apply.

Can I return my items?

We will NOT accept returns if;

  • The item has been visibly used or worn.
  • The item is marked or dirty in any way.
  • The packaging has been lost, thrown away or damaged.
  • The item has been damaged in return transit due to insufficient packaging.
  • The item is over the 30 day returns period

How do I return my items?

On the reverse of your invoice you will find a simple returns form that needs to be completed and returned along with your goods. Please note that failure to complete this form may result in delays when processing your return.  We would also ask that you do not put any tape or labels directly on to the product packaging as this will deem the product unsaleable. Please cover the original packaging as best you can before applying any tape or labels.

With most items you will receive a free returns label with your order. If for any reason you need to return the unused/unworn item you can simply complete the returns form, pack the returns form in the parcel, attach the Collect+ label and drop the package at your nearest Collect+ store (89% of our customers are within 1 mile of a Collect+ store).  Please use the link below to find your nearest store.

Please do not put any tape or labels directly on to the product packaging as this will damage the packaging and cause the product to be unsaleable. In this instance you may be charged for the resulting damage.

How long will it take for my return to be processed?

It can take 2-4 days for your return to be processed once we have received the goods, please allow for this time period before getting in touch. When the return has been processed a member of the returns team will be in touch via phone or email to confirm the action taken. The Collect+ service normally takes 2-5 days for items to get back to us.

In the event that extra payment is required for an exchange a member of the returns team will give you a call to take payment.

If you have requested a refund please allow 72 hours from processing the return for the funds to reach your account. All refunds are credited to the original method used to place the order.

My exchange is urgent! What do I do?

We understand that sometimes an exchange may be urgent. In this case we would recommend placing another order through the website and return the other item back for a full refund.

Can I return my product under warranty?

All products will come with a limited manufacturer warranty, most of the time this information will be with the product. Please check this information as some manufacturers will ask that you contact them directly. In most cases however you would be asked to contact the retailer.

In the event that you feel you can claim under the warranty we would ask that you email us with a description of the issue, your order number and preferably a photograph illustrating the issue.

In some cases we may be required to contact the manufacturer for their expert opinion before a decision is made.

We may also ask that a product is returned to us for inspection and if a fault can be repaired, or damaged part replaced we are obliged to do this and return the product to you.

Please note that footwear that has been used for Skating/Scootering is not covered under warranty. The shoes sold for skating do feature elements to help make them more durable for the sport but they are not impervious to damage caused by grip tape, braking and attempting tricks. 

 

I need to return an item from outside the UK.

To give you the best possible chance of securing your product, you are able to place a pre-order, doing this will allocate stock to your order.

  • You will not be charged until the goods are shipped out from our warehouse
  • All re-stock dates given have been provided by the UK distributor, but ARE subject to changes beyond our control, we notify all customers in the unlikely event of any changes

Safety Information

  • Important: always wear a helmet and pads when using any equipment purchased from skatehut.
  • Electric scooters- must only be used on private property. Use of this product on public highways is illegal and could lead to prosecution. By puchasing this product you confirm you understand this advice.
  • Heelys- always remove the wheels when using the shoes in “walking” or “shoe” mode.
  • Never use any equipment on or near roads.
  • The items we sell are fun but can be dangerous- you are using them at your own risk so please be careful- please read all safety instructions before use.

3. A student is defined as an individual currently enrolled in a full-time or part-time course at an institution of higher education.
