There are 2 main styles of deck, a 1 piece deck which adds rigidity and strength to the scooter, these are generally used for tricks and freestyle use.
The second are standard decks that require a folding mechanism to allow the scooter to be folded and transported more easily.

The Key to a great 1 piece deck is to achieve great strength for big air tricks. While keeping the deck balanced and lightweight for more technical freestyle riding.
